The European Zebrafish Society (EZS) -
supporting fish models for biomedical research - is a network of fish researchers with the aim to promote the further development of fish models in biomedical research (and to make these accessible to other users, such as the medical, pharmaceutical and industrial communities). Our further aims are to foster the links and information exchange within the community by support workshops and meetings, to lobby for opportunities at funding bodies and to promote young scientists to get the best benefit for all participants. For all these activities this homepage serves as a central information point.
The society was founded to continue the idea of the
COST Action and later
EuFishBioMed, a European funded infrastructural activity. Currently more than 180 mainly Europe-based research groups are linked by this network, which reaches about 1000 scientists.
About EZS
The European Zebrafish Society was formed as a successor of "EuFishBioMed e.V." to foster zebrafish research, providing a platform for researchers and a framework for grant funding for young researchers.
